Today, I've been working with learning how Blackboard works - that is the changes that have been implemented in Blackboard - which brings to mind the constant struggle between the good and bad of technology: the constant move forward of technology to improve and the inability to master most things because of how fluid technology is.
Technology always seems to be moving forward - and despite the fact that people are the ones who create and update the technology it's also the people who can't keep up with it.
While ironic - it's not unlike our relationship with God. Yes I know that sounds like a really big stretch - but it's true. The more we get to know who God is and how vast he is, the more we learn the less we know. The significant difference is that God doesn't change and well - technology does - almost constantly. God stays faithful to Himself, we - being finite simply learn and discover deeper and different portions of his character. Technology - well it's never faithful, not even to itself sometimes.
So, now I need to get back to Blackboard and find out what's changed, what's stayed the same and what wasn't there that is there now and what was there that's gone. With God, he's the same yesterday today and forever. Amen.
