I'm really excited that I've been able to mesh together items from Wimzi, Feedburner, Blogger and other Web 2.0 technologies.
The great thing about use of these technologies with Blackboard as a base is that other tools th at provide much better granularity, form, function and ease of use allow me to enhance what I do as a teacher teaching about and with technology.
Wimizi allows me to provide a non-authenticating, but functional AIM window for student users who have AIM usernames to chat directly with me when they go to the Announcements section of the course, so long as I'm logged in with my AIM credentials else where. It also provides a great means of showing if I'm somewhat available, which is yet another means whereby students can contact me if they have questions about assignments, class material or are having an issue with technology directly.
Feedburner is basically the display mechanism that provides a face to the blog posts I deposit through a OS X Blogger widget. I use BuzzBoost to create the HTML code necessary for posting within the page.
Now if I can just find some code to embed here to stream the video stream from the camera on my laptop - that would be great!
